Instagram has introduced new features to its direct messaging (DM) system, including message scheduling and pinning, Meta announced in a blog post. Users can now schedule messages in advance and pin up to three DMs at the top of a chat for easy access.
The update also includes a "Translate" option, allowing users to translate DMs into 99 different languages. By clicking on a message and selecting “Translate” from the drop-down menu—which also includes Reply, Forward, and Copy—users can instantly view translations.
Additionally, Instagram has added a music-sharing feature to DMs. By clicking the sticker icon next to the message box and selecting the new music icon, users can share songs that everyone in the chat can listen to simultaneously without leaving the app.
Another new functionality allows users to invite others to group chats via QR code. By scanning the code, people can quickly join a conversation without needing an invite link.
Instagram has confirmed that these features are rolling out globally.
